What is the NPK cost outlook for the future? If I decide to use less fertilizer and mine the nutrients already in my fields, what will that do to my operation long term? by Northern Indiana

Larry Murphy, Ph.D.

NPK cost outlooks are level or upward.  Nutrient rate shaving may be a way of cutting costs but I don’t think we ever want to deplete soil test levels that have been built up over the years.  Those nutrients are still an important part of crop nutrition.
